Why should I choose to book with Caraib Connexion?

Planning a trip with a specific purpose will need fine-tuning, but first ask yourself:

Because Caraib Connexion will make things easy for you. We all know how exhausting it can be an online search for your next getaway… We try to connect on the same platform the best, authentic, unique things to do and where to sleep in some Caribbean islands by only promoting independent and small tourism providers. It’s simple, straight to the point, easy booking, easy customer service and any tips are from Caribbean locals only.

Is Caraib Connexion a travel agency?
No, it’s not a travel agency, but digital travel booking website. We are the third party between independent travel providers from the Caribbean and travellers worldwide. We do not organise any of the travel product listed on our web site, we make the promotion, social media advertisement and online booking.

What are the general admission documents to travel to the French Caribbean?
If you are planning a trip to Martinique, be sure you have a valid passport or national identity card (in case you are a citizen of European Union). There is good news for citizens of the US, Canada, and Australia as well as New Zealand. They can stay on an island for up to 90 days without a visa. EU citizens can visit Martinique visa-free as well, while all other guests need a Schengen visa.
However, you will need to consult each French Caribbean island consulate or tourism board website to know more about it.

What is the actual situation with the Zika virus?
Zika is spread mostly by the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito (Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus). These mosquitoes bite during the day and night.
Zika can be passed from a pregnant woman to her fetus. Infection during pregnancy can cause certain birth defects.
There is no vaccine or medicine for Zika.
Local mosquito-borne Zika virus transmission has been reported in the Caribbean region
Many people infected with Zika virus won’t have symptoms or will only have mild symptoms. The most common symptoms of Zika are
Fever
Rash
Joint pain
Red eyes
Other symptoms include:
Muscle pain
Headache
Symptoms can last for several days to a week. People usually don’t get sick enough to go to the hospital, and they very rarely die of Zika. Once a person has been infected with Zika, they are likely to be protected from future infections.

Is it safe to travel in the Caribbean?
Safer than any Western countries, the Caribbean region crime rate has tremendously dropped those past years. Away from ISIS or any other terrorism threats, no tsunami however due to volcanic activities in the region, we may have earthquakes occurring in some Caribbean islands. Nevertheless, the Caribbean region is not part of the country in the “red zone”, for another perspective, you can check out the Government’s travel advisories. Also take your cue from the travel industry (airlines, cruise lines…) most companies post their crisis-related alterations and cancellations on their websites.

Is our payment booking system is protected you against fraud?
Yes, we use PayPal, which is a true certified booking platform plus SSL certification from WP engine (one of the host server) for all credit card transactions.

What is the cancellation/modification policy?
“Any cancellation of a booking by and end user of Caraibconnexion website searching for accommodations or activities is only referred to in the vendor agreement for purposes of not obligating Caraibconnexion to pay the vendor for the booking for the reason of the cancellation by the end user.

Do you provide other services other than tours and accommodation booking?
Tours, excursions, private guided tour, small accommodation such as villa rental, vacation rental, small hotels are primarily listed.

When should I buy my airline ticket? Which website do you recommend?
If you are travelling solo we recommend you to buy your airline ticket within at least 2 months prior. So that you can take advantage of last minute deals. Nevertheless, families and couples might book their airline flight as soon as they could (price can rise very quickly depending on time, month,… on your desired trip). There are plenty of books, websites although to take advantage of modification/cancellation policy we strongly recommend to use the airline company website, their customer service will be more helpful in case of issues relating to your booking.

Do you provide all package booking (Flight + accommodation + tours / accommodation + tours combined)?
As a travel promotional and booking website, we do not sell any full booking travel product. We are promoting only independent travel/tourism product. You may choose among excursions and/or accommodation listed on caraibconnexion.com

What should I bring in my carry on?
Anything for warm temperature :). Just bear in mind the airline rules that you are travelling with in general, you will be allowed one small carry-on (mostly low-cost airlines), with one luggage (with majors and big airline company).

I just had a terrible experience during my travel experience and I want to complain. How should I do that?
We apologise for any bad experiences during your travel to the Caribbean, but sometimes it does happen. All providers must provide their contact details to travellers, you must contact them first, then you can contact us directly at (001) 786 347 3747 or by email ingrid@caraibconnexion.com.

I have never been to the Caribbean before, which Caribbean island should I go?
Each island has it’s own charm, and are different from any others. You will find the right one by selecting your interest (beach only experience, rainforest, hiking, foodies…) and of course your budget. How to make it easier? Choose your first choice 🙂

How to get in touch with providers after booking?
After your online booking with caraibconnexion.com, you will receive shortly a confirmation email to resume your travel details. Followed by another email with providers details and point of the meeting.

Which languages should my provider speak?
Caraib Connexion team select bilingual or English speaker providers. Although, some providers from the French Caribbean may have a basic English level. You should not worry too much we make sure that any activities, host are prepared and guarantee to speak a comprehensive English language.

How should I register? Is there a fee?
To register with us, you need to click on the Register button (Partner – Log in / Sign up top right corner). Registration is 100% free, you just need to register to the right category to enhance and optimise your travel product to be among our search engine booking results.

How much commission per activity and/or accommodation?
We will take % on each activity category
% on total accommodation
Plus, Paypal transaction fee (money only wired through Paypal)

Which category should I register my listing?
Respect the nature of your own listing, as each product display is unique.
We encourage to keep integrity in your product description, so that it will facilitate the search engine to display it whenever the categories requested will be selected in our database. Stay true to your product, choosing too many categories will decrease your product visibility from travellers using the search engine tool.

Why adding tags into my listing?
To optimise your listing in user research results. You may stay true to your product category.

What can I add in my listing description field?
You may use English language only and describe to the best your activity (design, location, what’s around, equipment, the length of activity, things to bring, do’s and don’t, …)

What is the picture size/frame? How many pictures should I download?
Up to 10 photos format 800*600 (you may need to multi-select your photos from your original device to add them to the Gallery), 1 video format jpeg (online videos).

What are the pictures restrictions?
No logo, no words, no Emoji. Just the picture in the best quality.

Which languages should I enter my listing information?
We strongly recommend English as we focus to mainly attract English speaking travellers.
Although, we assist French-speaking providers with listing translation.

Should I provide my contact details to the customer directly?
Your vendor profile information is visible to the public, the user can easily have access to your main details, however, Caraib Connexion staff will provide you with each customer details, and vice versa. We will supervise the communication between traveller and provider.

How to get in touch with customers after booking?
Communication after booking will be coordinated with Caraib Connexion staff.
You will receive user full profile (if registered) and contact details.
You must provide us with a point of meeting/time schedule, other important information to the traveller.

What happened if a customer cancels booking?
No payment shall be received by You if the End User notices their/his/her/its cancellation during the cancellation period defined in the Terms of Use for the End User. Along with the submission and receipt of Your funds after the compensation as defined herein is deducted from your Booking, you will receive a copy of an invoice for the fees already deducted as commission to Caraib Connexion.

How often should I update my listing?
As soon as you want, we recommend twice for each season, new photos, discounted price, new itinerary…

How should I retrieve the payment from customers? How often do you submit payment?
Payment is submitted through Paypal payment portal, you must provide your Paypal ID details so that you will receive directly the payment from travellers.

My business is only running for midseason, or short amount of time. Can I still register?
Yes, absolutely, we will switch on/off your listing depending on the running season.
